Best Kept Sports Club

Wednesday, September 2nd 2009

Sports enthusiasts from across Shropshie are celebrating after winning awards for keeping their clubs spic and span. The awards are organised by Shropshire Playing Fields Association with bowling, cricket, hockey, rugby, and tennis clubs all being nominated. Overall joint winners of Best Kept Sports Club were Meole Brace Bowling Club and Hadnall Bowling Club. Don Harrison, Meole Brace B.C. secretary said "It's the first time we knew about the awards so I decided to enter the club. It's absolutely fantastic, it's a reward for the officials who have done a lot over the last few years working on a tight budget. We have a very hard working committee and without them the club would not survive"
